Trans*Presents is a forthcoming and in development book series that uses conversation and visual communication practices to document experiences between intergenerational trans* and gender non-conforming lives and infrastructures across cultural contexts. Trans*Presents moves with shifting definitions to investigate and problematize infrastructures as those frictional processes that make life for us and our beloved more possible to live, thrive within and enjoy. Throughout the series, we consider visual communication practices that are the catalyst for and chart trans* connections (posters, paintings, newsletters, announcements…). These designed interventions become meaningful for us when we tell the story about how one person designs a poster to get many people to the party, and that many people author a bureaucratic intervention to get one person into the doctor’s office.
